JSC Freedom Finance has been granted Qualified Intermediary (QI) status by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The status was officially approved on May 7, 2025.
JSC Freedom Finance is the second brokerage firm within the Freedom Holding Corp. group in Kazakhstan to receive this status.
The QI status confirms the company’s compliance with international standards for adhering to U.S. tax regulations when dealing with American securities. It enables the establishment of direct relationships with the IRS and international depositories, simplifies tax administration, and reduces the risks of double taxation. With this status, JSC Freedom Finance is authorized to apply reduced tax rates when distributing income to clients from securities considered as U.S. source income.
